On behalf of ASPAC 2018-19 Chair Peter Zander and Hsu Chang-Ching, Convention Organising Committee Chair, please find attached the first call to all Kiwanians in the Asia Pacific region of Kiwanis for the convention on March 7th - 9th March 2019 on Taipei.
They ask that you forward this document, along with the accompanying registration documents, to the clubs and any other relevant Kiwanians in your district.
I will forward a draft Convention programme, along with information regarding the convention hotels, when this information comes to hand.

Greetings to my fellow Kiwanis Asia-Pacific members,
I am glad to be with you as we look ahead to another successful year in our region.
Kiwanis Asia-Pacific continues to lead the way in club openings and membership growth. While we take time
to celebrate these accomplishments, we must not rest! Spread the word about the impact of Kiwanis and invite
your friends and colleagues to attend a meeting or take part in a service project.
Our people and our mission are the heart of Kiwanis. When we come together our collaboration creates lasting
opportunities for more children and strengthens communities.
A lot of planning has gone into this convention. Take advantage of the programs offered and let’s share
some smiles and laughs as we grow Kiwanis from good to great.
I look forward to visiting with you. Thank you to Kiwanis ASPAC and to Taipei, Taiwan for hosting our gathering.

Fellow Kiwanians, dear friends and delegates
My name is Óskar Guðjónsson, a proud 29-year Kiwanis member of the Iceland –Faroes district.
Currently I also serve as the incumbent
Kiwanis International – European Federation (KI-EF) President. On the occasion of your convention I bring you my
personal greetings and those of the Federation and its members. My wife Konny and I are delighted to honor the reciprocal
and long withstanding tradition of ASPAC and KI-EF leaders attending in each other´s annual convention. We are here
and look forward to a memorable occasion.
I must use this opportunity to congratulate ASPAC members on their tremendous membership growth last year! Unofficially
KIEF and ASPAC have been engaged in a friendly membership competition. Last year you handsomely surpassed Europe and
became the second largest Kiwanis region outside N-A. We wholeheartedly rejoice in your success and pray it may continue for
the benefit of Kiwanis and the children of the world. KI-EF on the other hand must now look for tools and tricks to make Europe
great again!
This is our 4th trip to your region and the 3rd ASPAC island convention we join. May it be a productive and successful
convention where food, fun, fellowship and networking are enjoyed and appreciated. I have heard that ASPAC conventions
are different, and very much look forward to participating and maybe learn something which I can take to our European convention.
